    Interreg turns 30!

30 years of cooperation between people, communities and regions across the EU borders. No matter whether internal or external: celebrating cooperation in all its shapes is the motto of the Interreg community this year.

The celebration revolves around the three main topics that best represent the heart of what Interreg is about and illustrate the main concerns expressed by citizens: neighbourhood — finding common solutions to shared problems, environment — cooperation in building a green and resilient environment, and youth development — as the key impulse of the society of the future.

Bringing together the stories of collaboration and cooperation from all over Europe, three ENI CBC projects were selected for the 30 years anniversary of Interreg to emphasise the value of cooperation at the EU’s external borders. They are great examples of how neighbours work together to develop strong communities across borders — Kaliningrad and Klaipeda maritime and Museums over borders — and of how cooperation is needed because tackling climate change and environment protection know no borders — ZEWSGES project.

Take a tour around the virtual exhibition of Interreg30 and, while you listen to the podcasts, get a feel for the projects in order to understand how these and other initiatives are working on the ground to tackle challenges that can only be solved by working together under the big Interreg family.

An e-book has also been published portraying the diversity of projects carried out under the Interreg umbrella, classified according to the three themes as well as per programme:
